I am an artist...

I create with every fiber of my being. I strive to create beauty in everything I do. I design, I paint, I breathe, I am.

I am as competent with this heap of circut boards as I am with a paintbrush.

...and I need a job...

I haven't found myself "needing" a job in years. I tend to stay where I am. I generally enjoy the people I work with and the work I do. Of course getting laid off changes things... especially when I expected to be there at least another 10 years. But such is life -- and the nature of the current economy.

...and you need me.

You can't find anyone I've ever worked with or for who will say anything bad about me. In general people will tell you that I am a joy to work with. I am very easy going yet detail-oriented. I am a master at my craft and a genuinely nice person. I have nearly 14 years experience in all aspects of print production.

Art Director (Freelance)

I am responsible for the entire look and feel of the magazine. I have complete creative control over the editorial content of the magazine. I also design most of the ads. I work closely with R.R. Donnelly, our printer, in the pre-production phase. It takes me roughly two weekends to design the 64-page issues beginning to end from an e-mailed collection of stories and photos.

Dragonfly Design

Memphis, Tennessee
July 2005-May 2006
Owner/Artist

In the words of Jim Henson, "I decided that what I really wanted to do was go off and paint." And that is just what I did. I left my job at The Commercial Appeal to start my own mural painting business. It was quite successful, but unfortunately it did not provide health insurance. I worked with many residential and commercial clients including Guinness, USA and Silky O'Sullivan's.
